Transportation Construction Industry Offers Solutions to Infrastructure Crisis
The Transportation Funding Reform Commission today issued a summary transportation report publicly that says the state’s roads, highways and mass transit need billions more annually than current spending levels.

According to news reports, “without that kind of increased investment, the report shows the state’s “tremendous scope of deterioration of our crumbling physical plant when it comes to highways and transit,” said House Transportation Committee Chairman Rick Geist, R-Blair. The report also suggests possible funding sources.

Taken all together, including the needs of interstate and state highways, bridges and mass transit, the report adds up the needs for mass transit, federal and state transportation infrastructure. It says those structures require billions more per year, in the short term.
